Rintje Agricola, MD, PhD is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Anna Hospital Eindhoven and a principal investigator at Erasmus University Medical Centre Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He received his PhD (cum laude) on the aetiology of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in athletes during skeletal growth and its risk for the development of osteoarthritis later in life. Both clinically and with his research team he is focusing on hip pathology from young (athletes) to old. He initiated and chairs the World COACH consortium on hip osteoarthritis. In the past years, he was awarded several prestigious grants to study hip growth and the development of hip osteoarthritis. In the Anna hospital, he coordinates a multidisciplinary hip and groin clinic and focuses on hip arthroscopy and total hip replacement.

Filiep Bataillie, MD is an orthopaedic hip & spine surgeon in Herentals. He is one of the founders of hip arthroscopy in Belgium. Since 2019 he is the medical director of the Hospital in Herentals.

In 2013, he obtained a Doctoral Degree in Biomedical Sciences at KULeuven University for innovative research on the knee’s Anterolateral Ligament (ALL). His research was awarded with the biennial John Joyce Award at the ISAKOS Congress in Toronto, Canada in 2013.

Michael Dienst, MD, PhD is a world-famous hip specialist and senior physician. Over the past 20 years, he has contributed nationally and internationally to the development of both arthroscopic and open hip preservation surgery, in lectures, academic articles in journals and books, as an instructor in courses and workshops, with the development of surgical instruments and in live operations.
Prof. Dienst is a founding member and past president of ISHA (International Society of Hip Preservation) and was active for many years as an executive director and in the hip committee of the AGA. His operative spectrum covers the entire range of hip surgery from minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, open hip preservation surgery to minimally invasive joint replacement and complex hip exchange surgery.

Lars Engebretsen, MD, PhD is Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Oslo University Clinic and Head of Medical Sciences in the International Olympic Committee. He is among the world’s most productive in clinical, epidemiological and basic science research in the areas of general sports medicine, knee ligaments, cartilage and prevention of sports injuries and illnesses. He and his group have won several research awards around the world, and he was inducted into the AOSSM Hall of Fame in July 2015 and became an ESSKA Honorary member in 2016 and ISAKOS Honorary member in 2017. He received the Nordic Prize in Medicine in 2016.

Damian Griffin, MD, PhD is the Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Warwick. He trained in Cambridge, Oxford and the United States. He worked as a Consultant in Oxford before taking up the Foundation Chair in Warwick and helping to establish Warwick Medical School. His clinical interest is in diagnosing and treating hip pain in young adults. Joint-preserving surgery for early arthritis, the development of hip arthroscopy, and the management of femoro-acetabular impingement, sporting injury and acetabular fractures are particular passions. He runs a national referral service for young and active people with hip pain, based at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and in private clinics in Coventry and London. In Warwick Orthopaedics, he has built a new academic department with a clear focus on assessing the clinical effectiveness of orthopaedic surgery.

Lisa Korevaar, master in rehabilitation sciences kinesitherapy majoring in musculoskeletal sports. Played football myself at a high level and experienced some cruciate ligament injuries, which led to an interest in rehabilitation after knee disorders. She started as a physiotherapist in the orthopaedic service in AZ Herentals in 2016.
Since the start of outpatient rehabilitation in AZ Herentals, she started as a reference knee therapist where she mainly treats and follows up patients with knee problems and further educates herself in this niche.
She also performs functional testing in patients with patellofemoral complaints and in patients who have had a VKB reconstruction before returning to their pivot lift sport.
Once a week, she supervises knee osteotomy school at our outpatient rehabilitation.

Maarten Mertens is a resident orthopaedic surgery of KU Leuven who is currently fulfilling his last year of residency in ZOL Genk. He has a special interest in knee and sports pathology. He had the chance to complete his fifth year of residency in AZ Herentals. During that year, he was able to work closely together with the entire orthopaedic department and more particularly with the highly regarded knee department of AZ Herentals. In the future, he has the chance to start his career as an orthopaedic surgeon in AZ Herentals to help patients with knee and sports problems.

Matthieu Ollivier, MD, PhD is an Associated Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the institute of movement and locomotion in Aix-Marseille university hospital, Marseille, France. His clinical practice is dedicated to knee-related procedures, focusing on osteotomies and sports (meniscus, ligaments) injuries. He is engaged in an academic field at Aix-Marseille University; teaching medical students, interns, orthopaedic residents and fellows. Prof. Ollivier graduated with his MD and PhD (biomechanics) at Aix-Marseille University. He did a post-graduate fellowship in Rochester Mayo Clinic. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers focusing on basics sciences, sports medicine and knee procedures. He is the 2015 AAHKS’s John Insall Award recipient. He has presented at over 50 meetings across the world, giving lectures on sports medicine and knee surgery-related topics.
